Your Google Business Profile: a 10-minute checklist
20 October 2026 · 3 min read
When someone searches for your business, or for "barber near me", your Google Business Profile is what shows on the map. It's free, and a well-kept profile brings in calls and visits on its own.
Ten minutes, once a month
- Check your name, address and phone number match your website exactly.
- Choose the most specific main category you can, then add any others that fit.
- Keep opening hours and holiday hours up to date.
- Add your website link and, if you take them, your booking or order link.
- Upload a few new photos: outside, inside, products and team.
- Reply to every review, good or bad, politely and briefly.
- Post an offer, event or update so the profile looks active.
Why it matters
Customers compare businesses side by side on the map. Up-to-date hours, recent photos and replies to reviews make you the obvious one to pick.
